Loves of late

This is a tag by the lovely Louise at Sprinkle of Glitter and I think it is a great one. We spend far too much of  our lives moaning and griping and it can do us all the well of good to stop for a moment and think....really think about the things we love, the things we can be grateful for, and the things that just make us smile.

So here is a brief run down of things making me happy, and things that I am currently loving.

My Friends
I've said it before, I'll say it again, and I'll say it a million more times. I love my friends. They are one of my greatest blessings in life. I am especially luck to have so many, so many different groups of people I've met throughout my life that all have a very special place in my heart. I honestly don't know what I would do without all of my special ladies and the evenings spent giggling, drinking wine and coming out with some of the most random one-liners I am often convinced that I am living my life in a sitcom!

Hazelnut Mochas
I have always loved these, and always will. Starbucks you are my sanity and my craving all at once for making a drink so deliciously amazing! Although I have to say I can't wait for the red cups to arrive and gingerbread and peppermint lattes and mochas to be drunk in the countdown to Christmas!

Geeking out
I love geeking out about the things that I love. I love being just on the right side of obsessive and I will watch a TV series or movie over and over, re-read books and buy the t-shirts to match! Current re-geekings are: Back to the Future and Friends.

Game of Thrones
First of all - see above. I was introduced to the world of the 7 kingdoms this weekend and I have to say I'm already a little obsessed. Must. Watch. More!

What things do you love? What is making you happy at the moment?

  1. I'm incredibly happy to know that you are doing so well. I am beginning to get back to doing well myself. I hope things continue to move in the right direction for you, and that the confidence you have been displaying carries you forward to where you are meant to be. I'm also really glad to hear about your ability to enjoy life and count the things that make it worthwhile right now, to 'exist in the present' if you will. I am beginning to rebuild, once more going to meetings, and starting to do what I should have begun to do a year ago.. heal. I apologize if this comment is unwanted or invasive, I truly don't mean it to be, but in trusting my Jimminy (spelling?) Cricket voice as I have been lately, I would have been remiss had I ignored the sudden impulse to check your blog and make sure you were doing well. I am so very glad to see that you are. I wish you continued wellness and jubilance in whatever the future may have in store for you, and though perhaps it may not have been a concern to you, nevertheless I want you to know that I am on my way to being well again, for whatever it's worth.
    = )

    1. Thank you for your comment.

For your sake I'm glad you've chosen to try again at recovery and are attending meetings again. I hope you have the mind-set to keep yourself on a healthy path.

If you are doing as well as you say you are and truly wish wellness and jubilance for my future, perhaps you would like to end your churlish reaction to the financial situation we ended on and begin repayments as an adult? You have all the details you need.

I hope Jasper is well, I'd be lying if I could say I don't miss his fuzzy lil' face. Please continue to look after him and make sure he is happy.

However, I consider the chapter of my life in which you participated as well and truly closed and I am smarter than to reopen those pages. As you have noted, I am very well and am thriving in my new life. I have no intention of returning to the past and to that end, I have no intention of continuing this conversation beyond this reply.

  2. I love moaning and griping... and let's not forget ranting...

But it is good to see the positve things, to focus on what you have gained and not what you have lost, to see wgat you love and not what you hate. Even though it makes for dull conversation... ;-)

  3. Are you calling me dull Sid? :P How very dare you...

Let me know what you think of this ramble :)
