Life update - a lots been happening!

So as always - bad blogger, not blogged for months. Slap on wrist - yadda yadda yadda.

To be fair though this time I have an excuse because there has been a LOT going on! So here is a general rambling about my life at present.

New Job
Its full time, its a great salary, its a great cause. (Yup still in the charity fundraising sector of course) My manager is an absolute sweetie, and the role can become whatever I make of it really with her help and support. Rest of the organisation is a little...frustrating to say the least due to some old fashioned views and ways of working but I think it can be worked on/around. Luckily as I said the manager is awesome so at least I know I always have her support if I end up with a fight on my hands about anything.

And the new job led to...

New home!
I dont need to tell you that I've been needing my own space for QUITE a while now. I love my family, I truly do, I just always knew that I would love them more and have a much better relationship with them when we wernt in each others hair and under each others feet every second of every day!

So I found somewhere that is walking distance to work and absolutely GORGEOUS! Its a tad expensive, especially when paying for a wedding too but I think I will just about manage if I'm frugal with it.

Its SO worth the price though. Its a very roomy, open and airy two bedroom place and the best bit about it is - it has a massive walk in wardrobe! And actually now I've got all the furniture in it seems EVEN bigger!

I cant wait for Codaniel and Jasper to be here with me though. Its very weird to go from a crazy, always busy house to your own secluded space. Especially as the area is so quiet too. Dont get me wrong I'm not complaining - I love the quiet and the fact that its now MY space but its very weird.

Definitely need my other half and obnoxious little kitten to make it truly feel like home.

I'll take some pictures when there are less boxes everywhere and post them soon.

Wedding planning
Its all coming along nicely. I'm always surprised by how much has actually been done really early on, but also by how much there is left to do! Eek!

Not really been focussing on it too much at the moment with the move and job and stuff so I'll get to it.

I think I "may" have found the dress. I'm being conservative in case I find something better but there is one that I absolutely adore and think I will like again even more when I go back and try it on again! Ssh! Its top secret for the moment though - and of course will continue to be for all but a select few until the wedding day in case Codaniel accidently see.

Travel Plans
I'm heading to the States in 10 days! Only for a week sadly :( but we're going to really try and make the most of it. We have some wedding planning stuff booked in and then the rest of it will be just us relaxing. Including for my babys birthday where we have a very relaxing couple of days planned.

Then I'll be back again for 3 weeks in October/November where we will also be jetting off to McMegs Wedding! VERY excited about that!

Soooo yeahh. Thats about everything thats been going on in my life lately. Not that I've been overly busy or anything! :D

There's no place like...

Over this weekend things all got a bit much at home. Lets just say 5 related women in one house = overally high running emotions. Coupled with the fact that I've been needing and craving my own space since I was knee high to a grasshopper meant enough was finally enough.

I have to say finding a short term lease, checking it out, moving in and still fitting in a 1/2 days work all in one day is fairly impressive...even if I do say it myself! *Blows nails and poofs hair*

Anyways, I quite like my lil bit of the universe that I can truly call my own...I've made it pretty homey. Its a tad cold (although I am used to living in a furnace and the temperature has plummeted this week) but other than that its nice. And with Virgin TV, wireless and all bills included one cant complain :)

So I'm here until Dec 23rd, home for Christmas and to prepare for the States and then I'm back to FoCo for 3 months again! And then when I come back I'll be looking at moving out properly.

So I've been feeling like a bit of a Nomad for the last year. I have a feeling its all leading somewhere good though. Somewhere over the rainbow...somewhere like home.

Hehe! :D

There's no place like...?

So...being home. It's...weird to say the least.

First couple of days I was really not doing so good. My family called me Bella. Which may have been a TAD extreme (as far as I'm aware there was no screaming) but they wernt far wrong. I couldnt eat, couldnt sleep until exhaustion literally over took me, wasnt unpacking, generally just moping about in my room.

I will justify it to anyone that tries to say anything but I do recognise that this is not healthy behaviour. Not to mention the fact I may have worried Codaniel a little bit which is NOT something I want to do.

I desperatly needed to get back on the job scene. A) For a reason to get up in the morning and for some sense of normality and B) I plan on being back in Fort Collins very soon and employment is required as a means of funding that lil plan!

So I phoned a Face to Face company that a guy I used to work with works for. Had an interview today and guess what?! They offered me an admin role within the office instead! With the oppurtunity to go out and fundraise from time to time. Its still a step down from what I was doing before which kinda sucks but its a job, it offers oppurtunity for progression and its saleried as opposed to hourly which makes budgeting a heck of a lot easier. So overall - YAY!

And double yay because yesterday was a big important day for Codaniel which resulted in my being all excited and happy and doing funny dances. Hehe

The twins birthday(s) was really cool. I cant believe how big they've got. And whilst they're not quite saying my name - instead just shaking their heads and giggling they know exacty who I am, pointing right at me when asked "Where's Sarah" which made me all excited and happy! I love those kids man!

And been slowly but surely catching up with everyone. Going into the old office was kinda weird. I felt like I should be working and had just gone out for lunch with Kirsty as normal. But I dont think I'd go back there for anything...wait actually. Maybe a US visa...or a way to get Codaniel here. I'd go back there with a smile on my face and spring in my step if I was offered that.

So yeah for those who MAY have missed it...I'm all about moving to the states. (Apologies if you literally did miss that. I've forgotten who I've told and if thats how you found out, I can but apologise) Don't get too worried yet though. Its damn near impossible. America does NOT want to let anyone in I tell ya! Suggestions on a postcard please....

So I'm planning on being back in Fort Collins end May/beginning June, dependent purely on how much time I can take off work.

It can't come soon enough for me....

And finally I've decided I really need my own space. Even if renting a room as opposed to my own place. I cannot stand being at home any longer. So if anyone knows anyone looking for a roommate let me know.

Pic of the day: Clearer image of my gorgeous Birthday present.

Oh and I've totally been influenced by America. I have apparently lost my tea making skills and on top of that I bought a coffee maker. What can I say after a month you get used to something :) (Take back those cries of "Traitor")

Dream home

Whilst looking for something completly unrelarted on Google I have found what I would love my perfect room to look like. I never realised WHAT I wanted to look like before until I saw these pictures. I'm officially in love.

A bath.
In a stone grotto.
Surrounded by wood.
And its purple.
With flowers.
And an open fire.

*Sigh*

I think its some form of "Anniversary hotel" in Geneva or something. I dont care. I'm stealing the ideas for my (currently nonexistant) house.
It's like a fairy tale without being cheesy. *Gah* Why are us girls such saps huh? Oh right, answered my own question - BECAUSE we are girls! hehe. It's a part of us, I dont care how much this or that girl acts all independet and "hard" etc etc, I believe every girl just wants the fairytale.

And look! It has a little balcony and its quite clearly in the middle of a forest. And even the stones and that are purple. Its so gorgeous!

On a completly unrelated note I came across a very interesting group on Facebook called "Join if you want these stairs in your house" I was intrigued and clicked on it.

LOOK what it is!:

Talk about unbelivably cool!

Right, off to pick Becca up from the airport in a little while. I wish I drove. I dont mind getting trains everywhere having lived in London forever but I feel bad making other people who are used to the comfort of an automobile drive. Apologies in advance McBex!

By the way it is a beatifully sunny evening. Freezing cold and a few grey clouds but mainly bright blue skies and strong sunshine. Gorgeous!
