Happy New Year everyone!
I've got good feelings about 2012 on the whole. Sure I thought it was going to be a very different kind of year from the one it will turn out to be. Certain adventures I thought would happen now will not. But maybe other ones will instead. Regardless of where I thought it would go. The time will pass none the less and I plan to try and only have good feelings for the year as a whole.
To be honest its not got off to the best of starts. Nothing major events wise - just where my head and hearts been at. Not in the best of places, or the most positive of frames for the start of a new year to be perfectly honest with you gentle reader. (What is that from...? Series of Unfortunate Events?)
But....there's little things that make me smile. That make it easier. That help me weather the tougher moments. Sure some of them may not all be smart, but in life we cant always be smart. Sometimes we have to be a bit mad.
So I would like to propose a toast: "To smiles and to friendship. To talking, laughing and not worrying. To taking risks. And to having the guts to do something a little bit mad every now and again."

Room for emotions
Before I start I need to just apologise for the mess of this blog at the moment. I want a cool layout, and I'm loving the desk/notebook/scrabook/pinboard look (I've always loved that sort of stuff) but I dont know enough HTML to make my own, and the templates I've downloaded need tweaking.
If your HTML savvy and have some spare time - feel free to design me something awesome and I will love you forever! Anyways....moving on.
Human emotions....they're a funny old thing arnt they?
I think the thing I'm finding weirdest at the moment, is how many different emotions I am currently able to hold in my heart, and how much I swing from one to the next.
How is it possible to feel so insanely blessed and surrounded by love and people that care, yet feel so lonely and isolated from people who should care?
How can I go from insanely happy, embracing life and looking at the positives, to thinking the world is insane and wondering what is WRONG with some people and their lack of logic let alone compassion and empathy?
And how....someone please tell me how.....a heart has enough room for love, sadnesss and anger all at the same person and THEN, as if that wasn't enough conflicting emotion to contain at once, also have the space for a little glimmer of a smile edging in at the corner? A completely unrelated smile. A smile that makes you forget everything else for a few short hours. Only to have pain come flying out of left field when making a cup of tea and remembering a lost memory that never happened?

The little things in life
So you were going to be really lucky and get TWO blog posts yesterday but I didnt get around to it in the evening.
It really is the little things in life that make a difference. It was lovely weather yesterday lunchtime and these early starts are really getting to me (I am NOT a morning person!) So I thought I'd go and take my lunch and sit on the common.
It was absolutly amazing weather. The kind of warm sunshine that feels like a big fuzzy blanket! So I laid down, listening to Mr Flynn and had a lil nap. I had to set my alarm to make sure I actually got back to work! It was LOVELY!
Then in the evening as I was walking home this guy (who looked lost) stopped me.
Him: Excuse me, can I ask you a question?
Me: (Thinking he's lost or something) Yeah sure
Him: Are you single?
Me: (Laughing slightly) No I'm not
Him: Ok, no problem - tell him he's a lucky man.
Me: (Giggling and embarresed now) Ok I will. Thank you! Bye
And the weirdest thing - it wasnt sleazy or icky at all. He was perfectly pleasent. I told Codaniel and he was all "Aw!" hehe, made me smile for the rest of the evening!
Good job too. Yesterday was election day in the UK. There was this moany woman at the polling station making a fuss cos she had to wait...oh 5 minutes. I swear I wanted to deck her or give her my "Your great grandmother didnt chain herself to a railing so you could be a moany bitch!" comment.
And so we've woken up this morning to a swathe of blue across the country. *Groan* No official results as yet but looks like The Tories are back. As if I didnt have enough reasons to get out of this country beforehand....
You know what I had a really inspiring thought stream yesterday and thought "I must blog about that". Can I for the life of me now remember what it was? Watch this space...I'm sure it'll return to me when I'm least expecting it! :)

Smiling
I want to hear about all the random, happy little things that make you smile. The more random the better.
I started playing this game with Alaya the other day. It started because I randomly emailed her "I hate..." and then we started compiling lists of things that were pissing us off/upsetting us. Then I decided that was much to negative a game for a Monday morning and changed it to things that were making me smile.
So here we go things currently making me smile:

So here we go things currently making me smile:
- A simple message (or not so simple) that brightens my entire day
- Having girlie chats with my sister
- Eating Fish and Chips and not feeling guilty about it
- Emailing my randomness to Alaya throughout the day
- Texting my randomness to Nat
- The GORGEOUS purple and pink sunset we had this evening
- That I'm leaving work in 15minutes
- That when I get home from work I'm going to be on the phone
- The trip is close to having all the details finalised and then I can book it!
- Wondering what other people are going to comment that makes them smile

I'm feeling good!
Exercise with Matt and Alaya today was SOO much fun! Ok running still totally not my strong point but I think if I can keep up with this amount of energy I might even be able to do a 5K without too much difficulty! (I say this now...)
And the stomach muscles arnt complaining too much from sit ups and what not so woo hoo!
ANND I'm not even as tired as I should be. Especially considering it took me forever to fall asleep last night.
Wow I hope this level of energy keeps going. It feels SOOOO good to be healthy and energetic and happy!
Woah I can feel the energy and hyperness even seeping into this blog with the overuse of capital letters and exclamation marks. hehe
And if you think this is bad you should've seen my hyperself at Sylvia's birthday last night!
What can I say I'm in a good mood, I wanna share it with the world and hopefully bring at least a smile to your face with my crazyness.
Right off now to help Janny with her moodboard.
Keep smiling people!
